Hello to all again.
I am home from school. If you don't know, I attend the Oregon Culinary Institute Baking and Pastry Program. It's an intensive, four month course that runs around 35 hours a week, mainly evening hours. See me in my lovely baseball hat? I think this is the first time in my 25 years that I have really worn a baseball hat. I hate it. I cut my hair for this school, so it's about chin length now, and my little stub pokes out of my hat. Awful. But anyways. When I come across a semi decent picture of me in my chef jacket and pants I will post that as well. Today was my fourth day of school and we split off into groups to perform certain tasks. My group was in charge of prepping the bread for the restaurant tomorrow night. I made sauteed onion biscuits. I do hope it is a success! I will be so mortified if I've screwed up somehow. Yes, the school runs an actual restaurant where my class makes all the breads and desserts. I would totally suggest you guys come eat here, but you have a lot of distance to cover first.
As many of you know, my mom has been here for a couple weeks, but she will be leaving on Sunday. Suki has become quite attached to her, although I don't know what happened tonight. They are on opposite ends of the bed. I didn't bring home any treats from school tonight, so Suki and Mom were disappointed, but tomorrow maybe cookies? I am running a lovely bubble bath right now, aiming to get to bed within the hour. Mom wants to do a bunch of stuff before she leaves, but my school schedule sucks up most of the day.
Wow. My sentences are jumbled and choppy. I must be sleepy, huh? Long day in the kitchen. But fun. Although I really wish we had more variety in our uniforms. I literally look like everybody else there. My only form of expression now is the pink and purple pens I have clipped next to my thermometer on my jacket. No jewelry. Hair in hat. Oh well. I am getting used to it. But it hasn't really cut down on the time it takes me to get ready... I think because now I am wearing more makeup to compensate for lack of everything else....
